1. Introduction

CoolPhabets ("we", "our", "the App") is a children's educational application designed to help children learn to read and write in their mother tongue. We are committed to protecting the privacy of children and families who use our App. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and how we protect it.

2. Children's Privacy (COPPA Compliance)

CoolPhabets is designed for children ages 3 and older and is listed in the Apple App Store Kids category. We comply with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and applicable international children's privacy laws.

We do NOT:

• Collect personal information from children
• Require account creation or login
• Use advertising or ad-tracking SDKs
• Share any data with third parties
• Use third-party analytics that collect personal data
• Allow children to post or share content publicly

3. Data We Collect

On-Device Only. All learning data is stored locally on your device and is never transmitted to our servers.

Data stored on your device includes:

• Child profile information (name, age, emoji — entered by parents)
• Learning progress (letters mastered, match scores, streaks, XP)
• Practice history (attempts, dates, scores)
• Game scores and badges earned
• Parent settings and preferences (PIN, notification time, thresholds)

None of this data leaves your device.

4. iCloud Sync (Optional)

If you enable iCloud sync (premium feature), your child's learning progress is synced across your devices via your private iCloud account. This data is encrypted by Apple and stored in your personal iCloud storage. We do not have access to your iCloud data. No personally identifiable information (names, photos) is included in the sync — only learning progress data.

5. Device Identifier

We use Apple's identifierForVendor solely to prevent free trial abuse (one trial per device). This identifier:

• Is unique to our app on your device only
• Cannot be used to track you across other apps
• Is not shared with any third party
• Is reset if you delete and reinstall the App

6. Third-Party Services

Apple App Store: Subscription purchases are processed by Apple. Apple's privacy policy governs payment data.

YouTube (Stories & Rhymes): The App embeds educational YouTube videos. YouTube content is displayed within the App behind a parental gate (PIN required). We do not control YouTube's data practices. YouTube's privacy policy applies to video content.

We do not use any other third-party SDKs, analytics services, or advertising networks.

7. AI & Machine Learning

CoolPhabets uses on-device machine learning (Apple CoreML) to recognize handwriting. All AI processing happens entirely on your device. No handwriting data, stroke data, or drawings are transmitted to any server.

8. Data Retention & Deletion

All data is stored on your device. You can delete all data at any time:

• Per-child: Delete a child's profile in Parent Settings (removes all their learning data)
• All data: Use "Reset Progress" in Parent Settings → Account & Data
• Complete removal: Delete the App from your device (removes all data permanently)

9. Parental Controls

Parent-only areas (Settings, profile management) are protected by a 4-digit PIN. Children cannot access or modify settings, subscription information, or other children's profiles without the PIN.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted at this URL and the "Last Updated" date will be revised. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance.
